The City of Choctaw proudly announces the return of the beloved Old Timers' Day Festival, centered around the theme 'Welcome Back,' to Choctaw Creek Park on August 24th, complemented by a kickoff parade on August 23rd at 6:30 PM. This cherished event, returning after numerous citizen requests, celebrates Choctaw's 131st anniversary as an incorporated city, rejuvenating a longstanding tradition that resonates deeply with the community.
The festival unfolds with a rich schedule, featuring the Volunteer Fire Fighters' Hamburger Fundraiser starting at 11 AM, alongside a variety of activities including a touch-a-truck event, chainsaw carving, live music performances in the big pavilion, and a dance to close the night with Bottom of the Barrel from 8 PM to 10 PM. Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy vendor and activity booths, food and beverage vendors, and engaging competitions such as the Kiwanis Horseshoe Tournament and the Mud Tug of War, ensuring a memorable experience for all ages.
