On Sunday, May 19, 2024, the community is invited to an engaging Artist workshop featuring Changarrito Artist, Alán Serna, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This event, held courtesy of the H-E-B funded Domingos Gratis en Familia grant, promises an enriching experience for families as they try their hand at painting Changarritos on premium Ampersand boards, free of charge. It provides a unique opportunity for individuals of all ages to delve into the world of art alongside a renowned artist.
Alán Serna, a mixed media artist originally from Huanusco, Zacatecas, MX, and now based in San Antonio, TX, brings a wealth of expertise and creativity to the workshop. His impressive background includes an MFA in Intermedia from the University of Kentucky and a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Currently, as an Assistant Professor of Printmaking and Drawing, Serna also co-founded Feral Editions, showcasing his dedication to the printmaking craft and artistic community collaboration.
