The Williamson Museum invites the public to the 18th annual Pioneer Days, a celebration of history and heritage, at Old Settlers Association in Round Rock on Saturday, May 4, from 10 am to 3 pm. This family-friendly event, partly sponsored by the City of Round Rock, offers guests the chance to engage in traditional activities such as candle dipping, butter churning, and making corn husk dolls. Attendees can explore reenactment camps, enjoy live music, partake in pioneer games, tour historic houses, and browse a well-stocked general store-all free of charge.
Adding a unique dimension to Pioneer Days, David Valdez, founder of the Texas Photography Festival, will lead a special guided photo walk, providing a rare opportunity to capture the essence of pioneer life through the lens. Participants will have the chance to photograph historic cabins, craftspeople at work, and various demonstrations, creating lasting memories of this immersive experience. This additional feature emphasizes the event's commitment to both education and entertainment, showcasing the rich history of Texas pioneers.
