  • 2024 Chomp and Stomp at the OKC Zoo

The OKC Zoo is hosting a festive and family-friendly event where guests can observe the animals as they enjoy pumpkins. The theme for this year's activity is 'Fantasy Creatures: Chompin' and Stompin' Adventures.' This initiative is part of the Zoo's animal enrichment program, which aims to stimulate and encourage natural behaviors such as foraging by providing unique food items for the animals.

The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is accessible to all attendees with a Zoo admission ticket. The schedule for the Chomp and Stomp activities will be shared through the Zoo's social media platforms and website, allowing families to plan their day accordingly.

The schedule for animal activities includes a variety of species. It begins with the Tanuki at 9:15 a.m., followed by the Dwarf Mongoose and Meerkats at 10 a.m. The Elk will take the stage at 10:45 a.m., and the Stingrays will have their turn at 11:30 a.m. After a break at noon, the Squirrel and Spider Monkeys will be featured at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Galapagos Tortoises at 1:15 p.m. The event will conclude with the Asian Elephants demonstrating their pumpkin-eating skills at 2 p.m.

Overall, this event promotes both entertainment and education, engaging visitors with the animals in a playful and enriching environment.
