Every last Saturday of July, Guthrie, Oklahoma, celebrates Christmas in July, a unique initiative where local businesses join forces with the Guthrie's Territorial Christmas Foundation. Through this event, when customers support participating local businesses by shopping and dining, 10% of the proceeds are donated to the foundation to fund the delightful Christmas events Guthrie is known for. This gesture not only fosters community involvement but also ensures the continuation of Guthrie's cherished holiday traditions.
Additionally, the event offers festive activities including a chance to take photos with Santa from 1-3 PM, engaging Christmas crafts, and lively music to set the holiday mood. A special feature is the paint bar, where for a minimal fee, patrons can express their creativity with 100% of the paint profits directly supporting the Territorial Christmas Foundation. With Christmas treats and various activities, the event promises a cool, joyful retreat in the heart of summer, all while contributing to a cause that lights up Guthrie each December.
