The weekend event on October 25 and 26 offers a variety of family-friendly activities aimed at providing fun and entertainment for attendees. Starting on Friday, October 25, the Color Run, sponsored by Choctaw Elementary PTO, takes place from 6 PM to 7 PM at the south end of the farmers market lane. Participants can enjoy a colorful run, with a sign-up fee to support the event. Concurrently, the Haunted Hollow is held at the Big Pavilion, offering a free event featuring trick-or-treat booths, food trucks, vendors, and live music along with inflatables for kids.
The evening also includes a Jack-o'-Lantern Contest at 6:30 PM, inviting families to showcase their pumpkin carving skills. The Haunted Trails will open at dusk and run until 11 PM, providing an additional spooky experience for those seeking thrills.
On Saturday, October 26, the activities continue from 10 AM to 5 PM with the Sound System Competition, organized by Team Pure Pressure. This competition features participants who can compete for cash prizes, and attendees over the age of 12 will pay a nominal admission fee. Food trucks will be available throughout the day, offering various refreshments. The Haunted Hollow will remain open as a free event, featuring food trucks and vendors from 5 PM to 8 PM.
Additionally, Saturday will host a trick-or-treat event with Team Pure Pressure from 5 PM to 6 PM, leading into a Best Costume Contest at 5:45 PM. To cap off the day, community members are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets for an outdoor screening of the classic Halloween movie 'Hocus Pocus' from 6:45 PM to 9 PM. The Haunted Trails will again be available from dusk to 11 PM, allowing participants to immerse themselves in the spooky atmosphere.
