A Child's World 5K and Family Fun Run in Norman - 2024
The interactive community family event, titled 'A Child's World,' is scheduled for September 14, 2024, at Elmore Thomas Park in Lawton, OK, and again on October 5, 2024, at Ruby Grant Park in Norman, OK. Both events will run from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM and aim to connect with families while promoting the importance of childhood development.
Participants can choose between a 1-mile walk or a 5K route, with developmental obstacles incorporated along the way. This unique approach not only offers physical activity but also emphasizes learning and skill development through engaging challenges. The event focuses on key growth areas, such as gross and fine motor skills, speech and language abilities, cognitive skills, and social-emotional development.
Those who register by the deadline will receive a T-shirt and a swag bag, filled with resources related to healthy childhood development and mental wellness.
