  • Banjo Fest 2024

The Banjo Fest 2024 is scheduled to take place from October 10th to October 12th, featuring a variety of performances and workshops centered around the banjo. The festival will kick off on Thursday, October 10th, with a welcome reception held in the ABM Event Room on the second floor. The evening includes performances by Lee Floyd and Danny Rubio at 6:00 PM, followed by Bill Evans and Ned Luberecki, and Ken Aoki and Sato Yosh. The night will conclude with a jam session titled 'Night at the Museum.'

On Friday, October 11th, the day's events begin with a free banjo setup session alongside workshops featuring notable banjo players and instructors. These include Lee Floyd and Ken Aoki leading a plectrum banjo workshop, followed by a five-string workshop conducted by Ned Luberecki and Kristin Scott Benson, and a tenor banjo workshop by Tyler Jackson. A transportation service will be available for attendees traveling from the Renaissance Hotel to the Devon Tower starting at 5:30 PM. The highlight of the evening will be the Hall of Fame Inductions at the Vast at Devon Tower, honoring prominent figures in the banjo community. The event will include a second jam session, 'Another Night at the Museum,' wrapping up the night at midnight.

The Banjo Bash on Saturday, October 12th, offers a full day of free performances in the ABM Event Room and various locations throughout the American Banjo Museum. The day includes performances by well-known banjo musicians, such as Alan Munde, the Dallas Banjo Band, and a showcase titled 'Banjo in America' by Bill Evans. Additional performances will take place in the museum's first floor and courtyard, featuring artists like Randy Morris, Lucas Ross, and Off The Street Band. The event will also provide another opportunity for the free banjo setup with Greg Deering in the curator's shop. The day will end with a Pizza Parlor Sing Along Party in the American Banjo Museum's second floor event room, which will require tickets for entry.
