The Austin Gem and Mineral Society's annual gem and mineral show will take place at the Palmer Auditorium in Austin, Texas, showcasing a diverse array of offerings for enthusiasts and the general public. The 2024 event will feature over 30 vendors presenting an extensive range of products, including gemstones, jewelry, beads, mineral specimens, fossils, crystals, and more.
In addition to the vendor displays, the event will include youth programs, a silent auction, and a variety of exhibits. Attendees can explore interactive features such as the touch table of rocks and fossils, fluorescent minerals, and collections contributed by society members. The theme for this year's show is Turquoise, and there will be demonstrations in faceting, cabbing, and wire wrapping.
The show will also celebrate Youth Education Day on Friday, offering exciting activities such as the Gem Mine, Wheel of Fortune, and Jewelry Making for a nominal fee. Hourly door prizes will be awarded on Saturday and Sunday, culminating in a grand prize drawing on Sunday.
