2024 Hays County Honey Festival
The Vista ranch is hosting a Honey Celebration event on Saturday, July 27, from 12 to 4 pm, in collaboration with the Texas Natural Beekeepers Association and Vista Brewing. Attendees will have the opportunity to dive into honeybee education through an observation hive, sample various honeys from Hays County apiaries, and witness live demonstrations of honey extracting and spinning. The Vista Grill will offer honey food specials, and there will be numerous activities for children including a scavenger hunt and coloring activities.
Further attractions include a guided walk to the Vista apiary, a demonstration of beeswax rendering with a solar melter, and the chance to sample Hive Mind Honey Ale, a unique beer made with wild yeast from a Vista honeybee. Additionally, the event will celebrate the release of the 2024 harvest from Vista's onsite apiary, featuring all-natural comb honey and raw honey. This event promises an engaging and educational experience for all ages, promoting a deeper understanding of honey production and beekeeping.
