Round Rock Animal Control is organizing a free microchip event for residents on October 12, running from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. This event will take place in the front parking lot of the Round Rock Public Safety Training Center, located at 2801 N Mays St. Participants must provide proof of residency to receive free microchips for their pets, and each household can bring up to three pets. Those wishing to microchip more than three pets will need to schedule an appointment with Animal Control for a nominal fee.
For the event, dogs must be leashed, and cats should be transported in carriers. Residents outside of Round Rock can also obtain microchips for a small fee. Additionally, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter and Petco Love will be present to offer free vaccines, while supplies last. Vaccines available include HCP for cats and DAPP for dogs, with a limited number of 50 rabies vaccines offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
This event is a collaborative effort involving local organizations to provide essential services to pet owners in the area, enhancing the welfare of animals in the community. Participants are reminded to bring proof of residency, such as a driver's license or a piece of mail with their name and address to take advantage of these offerings.
