2024 Vets & Pets: Veterans Day Art Event
The Old Bakery & Emporium is set to host a special event titled 'Vets & Pets' on Saturday, November 9th, from 1 to 4 p.m. This occasion coincides with Veterans Day and will feature artwork exclusively created by local military veterans, underscoring the partnership with the Austin Veteran Arts Festival (AVAFest).
'Vets & Pets' aims to highlight the significant impact that animals and artistic expression have on the well-being of veterans. A recent study indicates that service dogs can alleviate symptoms of PTSD, reinforcing the theme of the event which celebrates the bond between veterans and their pets.
Attendees will have the opportunity to support local artists and military veterans while enjoying the event's offerings. Although RSVP's via Eventbrite are encouraged, they are not required for entry. Live music will be provided by cellist Carol Anne Boscoe, enhancing the experience for visitors.
