  • Austin Civic Wind Ensemble: Lord Of The Rings

The ACWE's Spring 2004 concert season will present an enchanting lineup featuring John de Meij's 'Symphony No. 1 - The Lord of the Rings,' alongside Karel Husa's 'Smetana Fanfare.' De Meij's symphony, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's iconic series, divides into five captivating movements: 'Gandalf (The Wizard),' 'Lothlórien (The Elvenwood),' 'Gollum (Sméagol),' 'Journey in the Dark: The Mines of Moria, The Bridge of Khazad-Dûm,' and 'Hobbits.'

This event promises a mesmerizing auditory journey through Middle-Earth, capturing the essence of its characters and landscapes. The inclusion of Husa's 'Smetana Fanfare' further enriches the season's musical offering, highlighting the depth and diversity of the program.
