Each year, the Greater East Austin Youth Association proudly hosts the historic Juneteenth Parade in Austin on June 15th. Kicking off at 10 a.m., the parade begins on E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and ends at Rosewood Park. The event celebrates freedom and community, bringing together people from all walks of life. Further details are available on the official website.
Following the parade, the Austin Community Cookout and Music Festival starts at 3 p.m. in the Rosewood Neighborhood, behind the Carver Museum. This vibrant event features smoked BBQ, live music by local artists including the headliners Tank and the Bangas and the legendary Scarface, and an array of activities including carnival games and educational workshops. The festival promises an engaging experience for the community, continuing until 10 p.m.
