Fortlandia is an initiative that seeks to foster a connection between individuals of various ages and the natural environment by rekindling a sense of childhood play and curiosity. This fall, attendees can look forward to exploring a fresh selection of custom-designed forts in the Family Garden, providing a unique opportunity for imaginative exploration.
Several design teams have contributed to the new lineup of forts, each with its own distinct theme and creative vision. STG Design introduces the 'Honeycomb Hideout,' which is likely to resonate with nature lovers. Chioco Design, along with Austin Custom CNC and Howdy Built, presents 'Shell Yeah!'-a playful fort that invites interaction. Okkem Design's 'Harmony Habitat' aims to create a tranquil space for relaxation and exploration, while Chris Honea's 'Ant Farm' offers a fun interpretation of the insect world.
In addition, William Bonner and Kennedy Rauh have collaborated on 'Pyrostructure,' which may feature elements inspired by fire and structure. The American Lore Theater team, consisting of Jacob Rosenberg and Liza Fishbone, brings 'Fort Flutter' to life, promising a whimsical and engaging experience. Ion Art contributes with 'Fort Fang,' likely incorporating dynamic and striking design elements. Finally, Victoria Marquez and Cody Thompson's 'Mimic' is expected to offer an innovative take on fort construction, enriching the overall array of installations.
Fortlandia serves as a celebration of creativity and environmental awareness, encouraging visitors to engage with the outdoors in a playful manner while discovering the artistry behind each unique fort.
