On Saturday, October 19, Fort Worth's Near Southside will host two major events, ArtsGoggle and Lost 'N Sound, from noon to 10:00 p.m. This day is anticipated to be the highlight of the year for the community, bringing together art and music enthusiasts in an expansive celebration across the area.
ArtsGoggle will take place along W. Magnolia Avenue, spanning 19 city blocks from 8th Avenue to St. Louis Avenue, featuring over 900 visual artists. The event will showcase a Main Stage at Block 16, sponsored by Moncrief Cancer Institute and UT Southwestern, which will host performances by top local bands every hour. Additionally, the ArtsGoggle Songwriters' Stage at Block 8 will spotlight popular solo artists from the Near Southside, supported by music advocacy organizations.
Live music will be featured at several venues, including The Chat Room Pub on Block 6, The Boiled Own Tavern on Block 12, and The Cliburn outside Lockwood Distilling on Block 4. Interactive art experiences will add to the festival's atmosphere, with giant puppets created by Vision & Verve wandering Magnolia Avenue and a large community mural made entirely of sticky notes being assembled by The Note Art Bandits.
Artistic endeavors will also include a unique fiber art project by Amber Bailey Perez, inspired by featured artist French 75 Studios, with sculptures from artist Tatyana Alanis hidden throughout the event area. Festivalgoers can also explore five large food courts, showcasing over eighty local food vendors, ensuring a diverse culinary experience.
In parallel, the Lost 'N Sound festival in South Main Village will host more than 50 free music performances across 20 venues, both indoors and outdoors. Participating venues will offer special menus and markets as part of this vibrant celebration. All experiences during the day will be free to the public, with complimentary parking and a shuttle service available to facilitate movement between the festival areas. The events promise to deliver a lively and enriching experience for all attendees.
