  • 2024 Deaf Day at the Fort Worth Zoo

The Fort Worth Zoo will hold its second Deaf Day on September 21, 2024, in collaboration with the Sign Language Interpreting Program at Tarrant County College (TCC). This special event aims to create an enjoyable experience for the Deaf community and those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, inviting families and friends to explore the zoo together.

To enhance accessibility, American Sign Language interpreters from TCC will interpret zookeeper presentations and will be available at key locations throughout the zoo, including giraffe feeding areas and select dining and retail spots. This initiative fosters an inclusive environment, ensuring that all guests can fully engage with the zoo's offerings.
