Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day is an annual event celebrated on the first Saturday of October. Established in 2004 by the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) and recognized by Congress, this day aims to introduce children to the exciting sport of mountain biking. Since its inception, the initiative has engaged over 100,000 young riders in experiencing the joys of riding on trails.
On October 5th, Grapevine Parks and Recreation is hosting a collaborative event at Horseshoe Trails, in partnership with the Grapevine Police Department, Dallas Off-Road Bicycle Association (DORBA), and Southlake REI. Participants are encouraged to bring their helmets, bicycles, and gear to enjoy a day full of mountain biking activities.
