Holiday at the Arboretum has returned, transforming the gardens into a festive display that captures the magic of the season. This year's offerings include the popular Christmas Village, inspired by European Christmas Markets, and the 12 Days of Christmas Gazebos. The historic DeGolyer House, under the creative direction of designer Michael Hamilton, is lavishly adorned for added holiday charm.
The Christmas Village features an array of charming shops and façades, creating a quaint European atmosphere. While enchanting by day, the village truly comes alive at night with illuminated trees, shop owners providing samples, and live entertainment. Among the highlights is Santa Claus's house, which provides opportunities for photos during select days and evenings in November and December.
A standout attraction is the Marilyn and Ben Weber Family Christmas Pyramid, a 23-foot structure that showcases intricate hand-carved decorations, lighting, and animated characters. This centerpiece complements the Christmas Village and is located in Pyramid Square, which also includes the Edelweiss Haus offering food and drinks, along with a spacious biergarten and performance area.
Inside the historic DeGolyer House, guests can experience the Christmas Classics exhibit, a testament to traditional holiday enchantment. Under the guidance of designer Michael Hamilton, now in his 23rd year, the exhibit features an impressive collection of over 600 nutcrackers, along with various decorative Santas, angels, and nativities.
The Dazzling Musical Tree also returns this season, standing at an impressive 50 feet tall. It is animated with more than 42,000 lights and plays festive holiday tunes, delighting visitors on the hour and every half hour throughout the day and evening.
Additionally, the 12 Days of Christmas Gazebos continue to be a highlight, featuring 25-foot-tall Victorian-style structures that depict the beloved holiday narrative. These gazebos are animated by music, lighting, and moving characters, creating a captivating experience for guests.
More than a million lights adorn the gardens, illuminating historic homes and the central 30-foot-tall spruce tree. This festive display contributes to an inviting atmosphere, ensuring that the Arboretum is a prime destination for those looking to embrace the holiday spirit.
