    On Thursday, July 4, McKinney's Red, White and BOOM! Independence Day celebration kicks off in downtown McKinney with a hometown parade at 10 a.m., followed by the Yankee Doodle Block Party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This family-friendly event encourages visitors to explore the downtown's dining and shopping opportunities.     Later in the day, the festivities continue at Gabe Nesbitt Community Park from 5 to 10 p.m., featuring children's activities, food, concerts, and a grand fireworks display to conclude the evening. Free parking is available and the event promises a packed schedule including family activities in the Kids Zone and concerts by The Rich Girls and Aura, culminating in a spectacular fireworks show at 9:45 p.m. The City of McKinney invites the public to enjoy these celebrations and offers guidance for parking and participation.
