Garey Park is designed as Georgetown's premier outdoor recreation destination, offering a wide range of activities and amenities on its expansive 525 acres along the South San Gabriel River. The park, which was donated by Jack and Cammy Garey in 2004, includes features that cater to various interests, enhancing the community's outdoor experience.
Visitors to Garey Park can enjoy a playground, splash pad, and dog park, along with fishing ponds. The park also houses the Garey House event facility, pavilions for gatherings, and picnic shelters. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are over seven miles of hiking and equestrian trails, along with an equestrian center that provides additional opportunities for recreation.
Park hours vary by season, opening at 8 a.m. year-round but closing at 8 p.m. in the spring and summer and at 6 p.m. during fall and winter. The park is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, and visitors are not permitted to enter within 30 minutes of closing time. Entry fees are required for park access, and hours may change for special events.
