Tenttober is an outdoor camping event at Mitch Park, offering a variety of activities and a night of camping under the stars. Participants can enjoy outdoor events like arts and crafts, yard games, fishing, snake education, and camping demonstrations. Guests are encouraged to explore Mitch Park, hike, and join guided activities throughout the day.
Your registration includes participation in all event activities, s'mores, and a hot dog dinner on October 5, as well as breakfast tacos, muffins, juice, and coffee on October 6. Each campsite accommodates an average 4-6 person tent. For larger groups, multiple campsites will need to be reserved.
The event will feature several guided activities, including arts and crafts, fishing with Troop 77, a bike ride hosted by the Edmond Bicycle Committee, and a pop-up library with a reading area. S'mores will be available, and there will be Dutch oven cooking demonstrations and a sunset movie in the park. On the morning of October 6, breakfast will be served for participants.
Additionally, Tenttober offers self-guided activities such as hiking, geocaching, and exploring the park's disc golf course, skate park, and playgrounds. If needed, tent rentals are available for $25, with cabin-style tents that are easy to set up.
For campsite selection, guests will be contacted in the order they registered. Some campsites have access to indoor restrooms, while others near the pond will have port-o-potties.
