Girl Scouts Family STEAM Fest 2024
The Family STEAM Fest invites families for an enlightening afternoon of learning and fun on Saturday, June 22, from 2-5 p.m. at Camp Trivera in Oklahoma City. This event, designed to inspire children aged 5-17 from all backgrounds in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM), is open to the public. With over 15 community partners, attendees can expect an engaging range of hands-on activities, including water testing, earthquake engineering, and interactive displays from local institutions like the OKC Zoo and Science Museum Oklahoma. The fest aims to foster discussions on renewable energy and sustainability, emphasizing the ease of integrating these concepts into daily life.
Ashley Elkins, the Director of Programs at Girl Scouts Western Oklahoma, emphasizes the value of exposing children to STEAM activities to broaden their horizons and problem-solving skills. The day promises a wealth of learning opportunities, alongside free giveaways, a blood drive, and available snacks.
