OKC Zoo Safari Lights, presented by OG&E, is returning with new and larger light displays, offering visitors an enchanting winter experience from November 9 through January 1. The event runs nightly from 5:30 to 11:00 p.m., allowing guests to enjoy a drive-thru and walk-thru journey through a festive landscape featuring wildlife and holiday-themed light sculptures, interactive displays, seasonal treats, and various photo opportunities throughout the zoo.
Guests will begin the experience in their vehicles, navigating nearly one mile through themed lantern displays. The drive-thru segment concludes at the zoo's entry parking lot, where visitors can then access the walk-thru experience. This part starts with a musical light show in the entry plaza, leading guests through the Children's Zoo and around the Jungle Gym Playground to view additional lanterns and interactive exhibits along the way.
Santa will be available for special photo opportunities at the Jungle Gym Plaza during specific dates, starting November 28 and continuing through December 24 on various days of the week.
The event offers a distinct experience for drive-thru and walk-thru attendees, with recommendations to purchase Drive-Thru Admission for the full experience. This admission includes access for one vehicle on the drive-thru course and up to four walk-thru admissions, with additional walk-thru tickets available for purchase. Walk-Thru only tickets can also be obtained for those who prefer that option.
Online reservations are mandatory and must be made in advance, with no drive-up purchases available. Ticket sales are final, with no exchanges or refunds permitted. ZOOfriends members receive discounts on admissions, and member pre-sales start before tickets become available to the general public. The event is designed with limited ticket availability to enhance the guest experience. Visitors should also be aware of safety warnings regarding potential triggers for individuals with epilepsy due to the light displays.
