2024 Georgetown South Main Arts Festival
Georgetown hosted its third annual South Main Arts Festival in the newly established South Main Arts District, which has received support through a Cultural District grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts. This engaging event showcased a range of fine arts, with juried artist booths presenting diverse artistic media. Attendees were invited to explore a community chalk art project created by dedicated artists and local volunteers, with the added opportunity to vote for their favorite entry; winners were set to be announced at the end of the festival.
The festival offered a vibrant atmosphere with a variety of food trucks, live music performances, dancing, and interactive activities in printmaking and drumming at the Georgetown Art Center. Among the special art exhibits were 'Entangled' at the Georgetown Art Center and 'Cirque' at Grace Chapel, both curated by Stinger Studio. Additionally, visitors could view works from Plein Air Austin and Plein Air Round Rock, featuring pieces created during the Plein Air Paint Out as part of the Autumn Art Stroll.
The festival's evening highlight included a live music performance from The Suffers, rounding out a day that celebrated artistic talent and community engagement in Georgetown.
