  • Elisabet Ney Museum: Breaking The Mold Exhibit

The 'Breaking the Mold' exhibition is set to run from October 12, 2024, to December 15, 2024. This group exhibition features artwork inspired by the life, art, home, and legacy of Elisabet Ney, showcasing the talents of Austin contemporary visual artists Beili Liu, Virginia L Montgomery, and Tammie Rubin.

In addition to the exhibition, the artists will launch an educational initiative called 'Breaking the Mold: Mobile Hands-On Art Crates.' This program aims to introduce Elisabet Ney's story to elementary school students in Austin starting in 2025. The initiative will focus on empowering young learners through the engagement of female artists. Designed and fabricated by the artists, these portable classroom kits will be distributed to 4th grade classrooms, offering lessons that integrate art, history, science, and math. The goal is to foster critical thinking and encourage creativity among students.
