Visit Austin's Barton Creek Greenbelt

The Greenbelt, known for its varied landscape, attracts adventure enthusiasts with its significant limestone cliffs offering prime rock climbing opportunities. Both hikers and bikers frequent the area throughout the year. Despite mountain biking becoming more challenging during the wet season due to trails intersecting with creek beds, the construction of a pedestrian bridge east of MoPac Expressway has improved accessibility between different sections.

In years of ample rainfall, the creek's water levels permit activities like swimming, cliff diving, kayaking, and tubing. Highlighting the community's engagement with the Greenbelt is the annual 'Tubin' the Belt' parade each Spring, where hundreds gather to tube down the creek, showcasing the area's appeal and versatility for outdoor recreation.
