Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc., known for producing significant lantern festivals in North America, will debut in North Texas this winter at the Texas Trust CU Theatre near Lone Star Park. This festival not only marks Tianyu's first appearance in the region but also showcases authentic Chinese lantern traditions to a broader audience.
The festival invites attendees to experience a captivating nighttime journey through the enchanted rainforest of Caballococha, Peru, following a 7-year-old boy named Koda. Visitors will encounter a variety of vibrant displays featuring plants and animals that reflect the magic and imagination drawn from Koda's dreams. As they navigate through the festival, guests can engage with the narrative by capturing photos, unraveling clues, and participating for a chance to win prizes.
Featuring 19 immersive scenes, the event boasts larger-than-life lantern sculptures made from metal, fabric, and LED lights, all crafted by talented artisans. The festival promises to be a family-friendly affair, offering an exceptional artistic experience during the holiday season. In addition to the stunning lantern displays, nightly performances will introduce audiences to acrobats and folk artists, enhancing the entertainment value of the event. There will also be a selection of food and beverages available, along with opportunities to purchase unique handcrafted souvenirs.
The festival is scheduled to run from November 8, 2024, to January 19, 2025, operating every Tuesday through Sunday from 5:30 PM to 10 PM. This timing includes the celebration of major winter holidays, inviting families and friends to enjoy a festive outing together. Tickets for the Tianyu Lights Festival are available through the festival's website, providing an opportunity for early-bird savings during the promotional period.
