  • Cottonwood Art Festival in Richardson

The Cottonwood Art Festival, beginning in 1969 in Richardson, Texas, has evolved from a modest gathering of local artists at Cottonwood Park into one of the most esteemed fine art festivals in the United States. Initially characterized by the distinct styles of the late '60s, artists displayed their work on blankets and easels, aiming to sell their artwork.

Nearly five decades later, this festival has become a cornerstone event, celebrated twice a year in May and October. It attracts the finest artists from across the country, marking it as a tradition within the community and a testament to the festival's enduring appeal and growth.
